A student survived after concrete from the NAIA expressway fell onto his sports utility vehicle (SUV) in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.
In Jamie Santos’ Wednesday report on “Saksi,” the SUV’s windshield was shattered while a part of its hood and roof were damaged.
The pieces of concrete that fell on the SUV along the MIA road connected the beams of the expressway.
The barangay’s rescue team immediately responded to the incident and administered first aid to the student.
Some witnesses from an establishment near the incident said they heard a loud noise.
“Yung kotse po nakita po namin nalaglagan na po ng semento po tapos yung nakita po namin yung driver po naano po ung ulo niya. Parang na trauma po siya,” a witness said.

In a video recording by GMA Integrated News, the student was seen sitting along a sidewalk while responders administered first aid. He was later brought to the hospital.
After the incident, NAIAX personnel inspected the area of the incident.
The skyway’s operator, Skyway O&M Corporation, said it is coordinating with local authorities and the student’s family to convey their aid.
The company considers the incident an isolated and rare case.
Its maintenance team also conducted a thorough inspection to ensure public safety along the NAIAX carriageway.
Skyway O&M Corporation said it is taking the incident seriously and is committed to ensuring the safety of motorists. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
