MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Airlines (PAL) started its direct flight to Da Nang, Vietnam on Tuesday, offering access to its cultural treasures.
The latest route from Manila to Da Nang is the Philippine flag carrier’s third significant expansion in Vietnam this year.
PAL Corporate Communications said PAL flight PR585, with 199 passengers, left Manila at 11:10 a.m on board Airbus A321 aircraft, offering both business class and economy class service options.
At present, PAL serves Vietnam with a total of 24 weekly non-stop flights to Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi – including three weekly flights that connect Cebu directly to Ho Chi Minh City.
PAL President Richard Nuttall, along with other PAL officials, Vietnam Ambassador Lai Thai Binh, and representatives from Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and New NAIA Infra Corp, led the ribbon cutting ceremony.
“As we welcome Da Nang to our global network, we affirm that PAL now serves three destinations in Vietnam, more than in any other Asean country, and that speaks of the solid bond of friendship that unites the Filipino and Vietnamese people. We look forward to flying travelers to the gateway of Central Vietnam,” Nuttall said.
He is also inviting Vietnamese travelers “to fly with us and visit some of the more than 7,000 islands of the Philippines.”
PAL will operate flights to Da Nang three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and plans an increase to four weekly flights by November 2025.
Da Nang is a coastal city known for its landmarks like the Marble Mountains and Golden Bridge.
