Lawmaker thanks Marcos for prioritizing Nat’l Center for Geriatric Health bill in special session call

MANILA, Philippines  — Manila 6th District Rep. Bienvenido Abante Jr. on Monday thanked President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for including the National Center for Geriatric Health bill among the measures identified for consideration in Proclamation 1318.

In the proclamation, Marcos called Congress to a special session this June 17 “to urgently consider the passage of” priority measures enumerated in it.

“I would like to thank President Marcos for recognizing the importance of this measure and for making it one of the priorities for the special session,” Abante, one of the measure’s authors in the House of Representatives, said in a statement.

“This sends a clear message that caring for our elderly is a national concern that deserves urgent attention”, Abante said.

All the measures identified in the proclamation have already been approved by the House before the special session call.
