Our country is a land of great potential, resources, and culture, home to fascinating animal species, delectable fruits, a colorful history, and indigenous peoples with deep traditions and practices. However, many provinces have lagged behind in development, motivating me to advocate for laws and initiatives that promote progress nationwide. As a proud Mindanaoan, I’ve witnessed the island’s transformation from poor roads and inadequate infrastructure to improved conditions, with farm-to-market roads connecting agricultural communities to consumers. I support programs that promote the continued progress of underdeveloped localities, including those in Mindanao, and have seen the impact of infrastructure development under the “Build, Build, Build” program, which has modernized airports and seaports, creating livelihood opportunities and attracting tourists. In Mindanao, notable projects include the Davao City Coastal Road, Panguil Bay Bridge, and Bypass and Diversion roads, which are bridges to opportunities and pathways to development, bringing government services closer to the people. I’ve also supported various infrastructure development projects in Davao Oriental, such as the Mati City airport project, and have visited and assisted fire victims in Manila and provided aid to those in need in other areas. As Mr. Malasakit, I believe cooperatives play a vital role in driving economic growth and improving livelihoods, and I will continue pushing for laws and programs that benefit Filipinos, supporting initiatives for development in every corner of the country, and providing service to the people, which I believe is service to God.
