Aboitiz Construction has completed the development of a private commercial port in Lagonglong, Misamis Oriental, reinforcing its role in Mindanao’s infrastructure build-out and economic expansion. Commissioned by AMADI MGT Terminals Inc., the facility features a 250-meter-long berth, storage areas for perishable goods, and equipment for bulk cargo operations, with an annual handling capacity of up to 3.3 million metric tons, expected to improve the logistics network for agricultural and industrial goods in the region. The port’s 23-meter-wide berth is designed to accommodate larger vessels, enhancing operational efficiency and throughput. The project marks another milestone for Aboitiz Construction as it deepens its footprint in marine infrastructure, following its deal with DICT Bulk Terminal Inc. to build a fifth berth at the Davao International Container Terminal, and its track record of delivering large-scale marine works, such as the 100-hectare shipbuilding facility for Tsuneishi Heavy Industries in Balamban, Cebu. According to Ramez Sihom, chief operating officer of Aboitiz Construction, “We are not just building a port; we are fostering economic growth and job creation,” highlighting the company’s commitment to operational excellence and partnership with AMADI in advancing business and communities.
