SAMAL, Bataan — Students, teachers and school personnel at Asuncion Consunji Elementary School here took part in an active attacker safety drill aimed at testing the school’s emergency response and strengthening preparedness for potential threats.

The drill was evaluated by Samal Municipal Police Station Chief of Police PMAJ Gary T. Lupian, with police personnel, representatives from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and the Office of the Mayor serving as observers.
The exercise tested the school’s ability to carry out its contingency and emergency plans during an active attacker incident. It was followed by an assessment where evaluators shared recommendations with school officials, teachers, students and parents.

Conducted in accordance with Department of Education guidelines on the safe implementation of drills, the activity underscored the need for close coordination among schools, law enforcement, emergency responders, local government and the community to ensure a safe learning environment.(30)
