Caloocan residents get free chemo treatment

CALOOCAN City Mayor Dave Gonzalo Malapitan on Monday announced that the local government has started providing free chemotherapy sessions and diabetes maintenance medicines for residents.

The medicine given to each patient is good for 30 days and can be provided monthly, according to the City Health Department (CHD).

Acting CHD chief Fernando Santos said the local government has sealed a partnership with the Prime Treatment Group (PTG), which allows residents of all ages who are diagnosed with cancer to undergo free chemotherapy sessions (infusion treatment).

Santos said the PTG Caloocan Chemotherapy Center on the 2nd floor of Ziti Center Caloocan will be open from Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Those who take medication for diabetes can get free maintenance medicine at any city health center.
