ANGELES CITY — As part of their advocacy for animal welfare, two executives of this city have donated dog food, shampoo and medicines to the K9 unit of the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group in Clark.
IC Calaguas, chief adviser of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, also personally donate the monthly feeds, vital medicines and even grooming needs of the narcotic detection and bomb sniffing dogs of the Angeles City Police Office.
Receiving the donations were police lieutenant Jonathan Ponseca, team leader; and Police Corporal John Micheal Dela Cruz, duty handler.
A known pet lover and advocate of Trap-Neuter-Release among stray pets, Calaguas was also instrumental in the rehabilitation of K9 Unit of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) from 2017 to 2020, where she served as Acting Deputy Director General for Administration and Chief of Staff of then Director General Aaron N.
