Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson will bring his traveling exhibition “Your curious journey” to Manila, where it will make its final stop at the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD) of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.

The exhibition opens on July 9 and runs until Nov. 15, concluding an international tour that included presentations at the Singapore Art Museum, Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, Taipei Fine Arts Museum and Jakarta’s Museum MACAN.
“Your curious journey” surveys three decades of Eliasson’s artistic practice, exploring themes of perception, embodiment and the climate emergency. Following its Manila presentation, the exhibition will return to the artist’s studio in Berlin, ending a multi-year regional tour.
The exhibition includes works that examine perception, sustainability and environmental change. Among them is “Beauty” (1993), an installation that creates a rainbow effect through the interaction of spotlight and water. Also featured is “Moss wall” (1994), a large-scale installation composed of reindeer moss.
Visitors will also encounter “Yellow corridor” (1997), an immersive environment illuminated by monofrequency lights that alters visual perception. Another featured work, “The glacier melt series” (1999/2019), consists of 30 C-prints documenting environmental change.
Ahead of the exhibition opening, Eliasson will deliver a public lecture on July 9 at 2 p.m. at the 5F Theater of the Benilde Design + Arts Campus. The talk will explore how art can inspire personal and collective transformation.
