A man was arrested after allegedly raping a woman whom he had drinks with in Valenzuela City months ago.
According to Emil Sumangil’s exclusive report on “24 Oras” on Thursday, the authorities were able to track the whereabouts of the suspect which led to his arrest in Quezon City following a rape complaint filed against him.
“Galing siya sa bus, nasundan natin, sumakay ng motor, at nahuli siya sa nasabing lugar,” said Police Colonel Gonzalo Villamor, Deputy Director for Admin, PNP Maritime Group.
(He got off from a bus and followed him. He later rode a motorcycle and eventually arrested him.)
The police said the suspect took advantage of the then drunk victim and brought her to a room.
Aside from his whereabouts, the police had a hard time looking for the suspect who now sports a long hair and a beard.
“Dati wala siyang bigote. walang balbas, clean looking siya, pero nung na-intercept natin siya kahapon, mayroong pagbabago – may balbas, may bigote, humaba na rin ang buhok,” said Villamor.
(He didn’t have a moustache and beard before. He was clean-looking. But when we intercepted him yesterday, there were noticeable changes – he already has a beard, moustache, and longer hair.)
When asked for a comment, the suspect said: “May pag-uusap na rin po kami tungkol dun sa kaso na ‘yun.” (We were already talking about the case.) —Vince Angelo Ferreras/LDF, GMA Integrated News
