The Bureau of Customs – Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) has seized 14 abandoned parcels containing various illegal drugs with an estimated value of P56.01 million.
The BOC-NAIA said the parcels contained suspected shabu, “kush”, vape cartridges with liquid marijuana, and opium poppy.
(In this case, they hid the suspected shabu inside water filters. The kush was stuffed inside a speaker system. As for the poppy, they tucked it into decorative flowers.)
The BOC official said the parcels came from Thailand, the United Kingdom, India, France, and the United States.
The bureau believes that a syndicate could be behind the seized illegal drugs.
(In our view, there is really a syndicate behind it. This syndicate operates within the ASEAN region.)
The BOC noted that the drugs that authorities have seized in the recent months were concealed in various items, including Bibles, in order to sneak out the contrabands.
(Perhaps this is also their way of testing our infrastructure and our equipment to see if it will actually be detected.) — BAP, GMA News
