The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has preventively suspended the driver’s license of the 48-year-old male rider who figured in a viral road rage incident after attacking two men with a screwdriver at the Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig.
According to a report by Luisito Santos on Super Radyo dzBB, the agency has issued a show cause order against the rider.
The LTO ordered him to appear before its Intelligence and Investigation Division at its main office on May 14, Wednesday, so he could explain why he should not be sanctioned because of the road rage incident.
The report said the rider and the two men, both of whom were on board another motorcycle, traded blows with their helmets before the former started stabbing with a screwdriver.
The preventive suspension will last for 90 days. His license should be surrendered to the LTO during the investigation period.
In a statement on Friday, the Southern Police District said the investigation occurred at about 4 p.m. Thursday, May 7, along Kalayaan Avenue corner 8th Avenue in BGC.
The solo rider allegedly made an obscene hand gesture against the two others, causing tempers to flare. The two were injured, while the alleged attacker attempted to escape on foot. — VDV, GMA News
