Celebrating another year at the Kalinga Center

THE Arnold Janssen Kalinga Center was filled with warmth and compassion as Anna Donita Tapay celebrated her birthday with the street dwellers and beneficiaries of the center — the people closest to her heart.

Rather than indulging in grandeur, Tapay chose to mark the occasion in service, joined by her team from 7th Galaxy Axis Company, JClick Events, Mad Cafe Don Antonio (D&F Foods LLC), and Manpower Group Philippines Company.

This year’s celebration was especially meaningful, commemorating her 10th year of quiet, unwavering support for the Kalinga Center. For a decade, she has been a silent pillar of hope, not seeking attention, but embodying true compassion.

Beyond the day’s festivities lies a message: while the poor remain hungry and hopeless, some in government continue to fake concern and enrich themselves. These are not leaders, but barriers to genuine progress.

Tapay’s example awoke those in power to the true meaning of leadership — a life of service, not privilege.

As Michael Jackson once sang, “If you care enough for the living, make a better place.”

Indeed, Ms. Anna Donita’s life proves that true greatness lies not in power, but in compassion.
