PERSONNEL from Davao Light and Power Company (Davao Light) will be stationed at major Araw ng Dabaw events to serve as first responders in case of power interruptions.
Fermin Edillon, head of Davao Light’s Reputation Enhancement Department, said they are closely coordinating with the city government of Davao to quickly address any power-related issues during the festivities.
He assured that the power supply remains stable but noted that unforeseen incidents, such as damage to electrical posts, may occur. In such cases, their personnel will be ready to respond immediately.
“So naa gyud me i-deploy na mga tao within the vicinity kay ingkaso naay naputol na linya namo didto makaresponde dayun me (We will deploy personnel in key areas so that if a power line is cut, we can respond immediately),” Edillon said during the Davao Peace and Security Press Corps briefing on March 5, 2025, at The Royal Mandaya Hotel.
Davao Light has also coordinated with the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) to prepare contingency plans, including backup power, to ensure uninterrupted celebrations.
