Typhoons cause P470-M damages on Pampanga agri

Crop damages in Pampanga has reached ₱470,104,758, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) said on Thursday.

Incessant rains brought about by the three typhoons and southwest monsoon bring the figure higher as more data is collated from municipal field officers.

Rice crop damage alone has reached ₱143,334,876.01, the  PDRRMO said.

Apalit town reported the greatest losses to its rice crops at ₱46,216,500, followed by Candaba town at ₱30,347,260. 

Arayat town also sustained significant losses to its rice crops with ₱27,635,538 worth of damage.

High value crop damage has reached a total of ₱7,057,814,  mainly in the towns of Arayat, Candaba, Porac, and Mabalacat City.

Losses in Pampanga’s fisheries sector have ballooned to ₱318,723,373.

The highest recorded losses is in Minalin with ₱225,098,075, followed by Macabebe town at ₱55,432,650 and Masantol at ₱26,811,648.

Damages to major infrastructure have been recorded at ₱170,000,000. 

This included infrastructures in Mabalacat City, Mexico, Guagua, Floridablanca, and Lubao mainly on dikes and slope protection structures.

Pampanga also sustained some ₱3,391,750 worth of damages to its livestock and egg production.
