An advocate for the poor group has vowed to investigate the rising rice prices in the country if elected to Congress.
So dapat ito ang tingnan natin,” said Ahon Mahirap Partylist second nominee and incumbent Pateros Mayor Ike Ponce.
Ponce, who is set to complete his third and final term as mayor of his humble town, emphasized the vital role farmers play in society, yet they remain among the most affected by poverty.
Given that Ahon Mahirap Partylist’s main advocacy is poverty alleviation, Ponce is pushing for programs that will bring justice to the hardworking farmers.
One of their key agenda is to advocate for agricultural and fishery subsidies for farmers and fisherfolk, ensuring that the sector is equipped with the resources they need for their livelihood.
“Mahalaga na ang mga kababayan natin ay may makakain ng tatlong beses sa isang araw,” the second nominee said, stressing that these sectors are instrumental in ensuring food sufficiency in the country.
Ahon Mahirap Partylist is also advocating for financial literacy programs to help Filipinos manage their finances more effectively. PR
