The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Pampanga 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) has announced the completion of the preventive maintenance project on a road in Porac town.
Gregorio Audea, Jr. chief of the DPWH Pampanga 2nd district engineering office (DEO), said an asphalt overlaying was conducted along the 587-meter section of Angeles-Porac-Floridablanca-Dinalupihan Road in Barangay Mancatian in the said town.
He added that “the project is aimed at enhancing road safety, traffic flow, and travel comfort by addressing surface imperfections and improving skid resistance.”
The district engineer said the project has a funding of P18-million under the office’s asset preservation program.
He added that the project is expected to extend the road’s lifespan by improving surface conditions while minimizing material waste and avoiding the need for costly full-depth reconstruction.
“By maintaining road integrity through preventive maintenance, we avoid expensive reconstruction efforts and free up government resources for other vital infrastructure projects that support regional development,” Audea said.
He added that safety upgrades such as thermoplastic pavement markings were included to improve lane visibility, especially in low-light conditions or during inclement weather.
