SolGen ready to take legal action vs. Alice Guo this week

The Office of the Solicitor General is poised this week to file legal action suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo.

According to Sandra Aguinaldo’s report on “Saksi,” this developed as the Bureau of Immigration said Guo was still in the country based on its records.

“We are ready to file this week. We are just waiting for certified copies of recently found evidence,” Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra said.

The BI said Guo is still in the Philippines as well as the 17 other individuals placed on the immigration lookout bulletin order in connection with the raided Philippine offshore gaming operation (POGO) in Bamban.

The POGO is suspected to have been a hub for scams, human trafficking, and other illegal activities.

Guo’s identity and citizenship have been questioned following Senate hearings on the POGO.

The National Bureau of Immigration last week found out that she and Chinese citizen Guo Hua Ping had the same fingerprints, indicating that they were the same person.

The development had Sen. Risa Hontiveros saying Guo was a fake Filipino.

The mayor’s camp has said that it also wanted to go over the findings of the NBI.

Guo has repeatedly denied being a Chinese citizen, saying she was a Filipino born of a Chinese father and a Filipino mother.

She told the Senate committee that she was a love child and that her Filipino mother had already left.

Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian, however, presented documents from the Bureau of Investments and the BI about the special investor visa applied for by Lin Wenyi.

The Anti-Money Laundering Council also said that Guo opened a bank account in which she indicated that her mother’s name was Wenyi Lin. —NB, GMA Integrated News
