The Senate on Monday approved a concurrent resolution adopting the legislative calendar for the second regular session of the 20th Congress.

Under Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 13, the session will run from July 27, 2026 to October 9, 2026.

Lawmakers will then go on recess from October 10 to November 8, 2026.

The rest of the approved schedule is as follows:

  • Resumption of session: November 9 to December 18, 2026
  • Adjournment: December 19, 2026 to January 17, 2027
  • Resumption of session: January 18 to March 19, 2027
  • Adjournment: March 20 to May 2, 2027
  • Resumption of session: May 3 to June 4, 2027

Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian said the calendar is crucial in plotting the timetable for deliberations on the proposed P7.2-trillion national budget for 2027, which the executive branch is expected to submit to Congress by August 14.

“This is also very important because it will dictate the calendar for the budget, which we expect to arrive here in the next few… I think August 14 is the targeted schedule to transmit the budget to us,” Gatchalian said.— MCG, GMA News
