The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) is on red alert status in three areas for the 2025 local and national elections.
These areas are the following:
- Cordillera Administrative Region
- Region 6 – Western Visayas
- Region 7 – Central Visayas
A red alert status is the highest level of alert to address an ongoing or anticipate an imminent emergency.
It requires response agency staffing at the NDRRM Operations Center and immediate interagency coordination.
Under the red alert status, uniformed personnel such as the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and the Philippine National Police (PNP) and other concerned agencies shall immediately deploy detailed duty officers at NDRRMOC during emergency status to render 24-hour duty on a rotational basis.
The NDRRMC is also on blue alert in the following areas for the 2025 polls:
- -NDRRMOC
- National Capital Region
- Region 1 – Ilocos Region
- Region 2 – Cagayan Valley
- Region 3 – Central Luzon
- Region 4a – Calabarzon
- Region 4b – Mimaropa
- Region 5 – Bicol Region
- Region 8 – Eastern Visayas
- Region 9 – Zamboanga Peninsula
- Region 10 – Northern Mindanao
- Region 11 – Davao Region
- Region 12 – SOCCSKARGEN
- CARAGA
- Bangsamoro Autonomous Region In Muslim Mindanao
A blue alert status means the NDRRMOC is in preparation for a slow-onset hazard event or anticipation of situation escalation, requiring selected duty personnel.
Primary or lead personnel from the Office of Civil Defense shall render duty at the NDRRMOC.
Under the blue alert status, uniformed AFL, BFP, PCG, and PNP and other agencies such as the Department of Health and the Department of the Interior and Local Government in the Philippines shall immediately deploy detailed duty officers at NDRRMOC during emergency status to render 24-hour duty on a rotational basis.
Meanwhile, state weather bureau PAGASA and the Mines and Geosciences Bureau will render duty under blue and red alert status and provide initial analysis and forecasts essential for planning relating to hydro-meteorological disaster events.
