President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has adjusted the rates and allowances of Philippine government personnel stationed overseas.
Under Executive Order 73 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Oct. 30, the base rates of overseas allowances for all government personnel assigned abroad will be increased, which is set to be implemented in four annual tranches.
The President also adjusted the overall allowance indices, along with the annual base rates of living quarters, and the rates of representation.
The same EO also updated the annual base rates of living quarters allowance, which will also be implemented in four tranches.
The order will take effect immediately upon publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), in coordination with the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), will issue the implementing rules and regulations. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
