A 47-year-old man was arrested in Davao Oriental after allegedly raping and molesting his minor stepdaughter in Cagayan de Oro City for nearly nine years. The suspect, identified as “Sherwin,” was apprehended by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) by virtue of a warrant for seven counts of qualified rape of a minor and four counts of acts of lasciviousness. The abuse allegedly started when the victim was eight years old and continued until 2024, with the victim only revealing the incidents to her mother in 2025 due to fear and threat from her stepfather. The suspect was tagged as the fourth most wanted person of the Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao and was finally arrested in Mati City, Davao Oriental on January 8, 2026.
