Policemen seized P706,180 worth of shabu from two peddlers linked to the remaining leaders of the now-defunct Dawlah Islamiya in separate entrapment operations in Central Mindanao. The suspects, Norodin Abalos Abat and Jordan Suib Alhabsi, were arrested in Tacurong and General Santos cities and are now detained to be prosecuted for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Abat was found with 53.45 grams of shabu, marijuana, and an unlicensed Colt.45 caliber pistol, while Alhabsi was caught with P342,720 worth of shabu. Both suspects are allegedly linked to the Dawlah Islamiya, with intelligence units confirming they share their earnings with the group’s remaining commanders. A total of 1,076 Dawlah Islamiya members have surrendered since 2021, with many reintegrated into mainstream society.
