The Office of the Vice President (OVP) launched a 10-day pop-up exhibit on November 17 in Davao City to commemorate its 90th anniversary by showcasing the accomplishments of the country’s incumbent and former vice presidents. The exhibit, titled “EXTRA + Ordinary: Vice Presidents of the Philippines,” opened at SM City Davao, with Regina Rosa D. Tecson, head of the OVP-Davao Satellite Office, noting that it highlights the achievements of 14 vice presidents since the office was established on November 15, 1935. The exhibit also debuted simultaneously in other locations, including Fisher Mall in Quezon City, Robinsons Malls in Butuan City and Bacolod City, KCC Mall de Zamboanga, CityMall Tetuan in Zamboanga City, and Isabela State University in Isabela. Tecson emphasized that the exhibit honors these leaders for their extraordinary service despite their ordinary beginnings, often overshadowed by the focus on presidents. It features incumbent Vice President Sara Duterte, who previously served as Davao City’s vice mayor and mayor, her predecessor Leni Robredo, now mayor of Naga City, and Mindanawon vice presidents Emmanuel N. Pelaez (1961–1965) and Teofisto T. Guingona Jr. (2001–2004). Tecson highlighted the vice president’s unique responsibility to serve the people with dedication, purpose, and fulfillment, regardless of recognition.
