Northern Mindanao Communities Flourish with Government Agricultural and Fishery Support

Communities across Northern Mindanao, including those in the hinterlands, are significantly benefiting from various agriculture and fisheries programs, bolstered by the support of stakeholders and local government units. The Higaonon indigenous people community in Claveria, Misamis Oriental, gained from agricultural training by the Agriculture Training Institute and Greenminds Inc., which helped build skills, systems, and self-worth among residents. In Sagay, Camiguin, the Special Area for Agricultural Development program aided the Sagay Inland Fish Grower Association with a successful tilapia harvest, yielding over 200 kilograms of tilapia. The knowledge and experience gained motivated the association to establish their own fishpond, providing additional motivation and unity to further develop their group and continue the success of their upcoming projects.
