A low-pressure area is moving closer to land in the Philippines, specifically 335 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, and is expected to bring scattered rain and thunderstorms to parts of the country, including the Visayas, Bicol, Quezon, Romblon, Caraga, Camiguin, and Misamis Oriental, with a risk of flash floods and landslides, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), which warned that the low-pressure area may develop into a tropical depression over the West Philippine Sea, with the Philippines having already experienced 12 tropical cyclones in 2025, including two in September, Tropical Depression Kiko and Tropical Depression Lannie.
