Del Monte Tees Off at ICTSI JPGT Mindanao Series

BUKIDNON — The country’s top junior golfers are set to clash in the ICTSI Del Monte Junior PGT Championship, which kicks off on Wednesday at the challenging Del Monte Golf Club. The tournament marks the start of the four-leg Mindanao swing of the nationwide series, with stops at Pueblo de Oro, South Pacific, and Apo Golf. The event is crucial in the chase for spots in the prestigious Elite Junior Finals, with only the best three results counting toward the rankings. Players will be vying for qualification points, and with no guarantees based on geography, the competition is expected to be fierce. Leading contenders include Alexis Nailga, Clement Ordeneza, Nyito and Roman Tiongko, and Santi Asuncion in the boys’ 15-18 category, while Precious Zaragosa, Zero Plete, Crista Minoza, Kenley Yu, and Santinna Patosa headline the girls’ side. The boys’ 11-14 category features Jared Saban, Laurence Saban, Nicolas Bernardo, and Ken Guillermo, among others, while Brittany Tamayo, Margaux Espina, and Sasha Edwards are top contenders in the girls’ 11-14 division. The youngest brackets (7-10) also promise intense competition, with Jilliane Namocatcat, Maegan Langamin, and Ashia Frayco facing off against Francesca Geroy, Sistine Yu, and Arianna Garcia in the girls’ side, and Simon Apilat battling Ethan Lago and other top players in the boys’ division.
