The device aims to prevent sudden engine stoppages and allows real-time monitoring of a vehicle’s charging system using sensor-based technology. The same invention previously earned first place in the 2025 ClusteRICE–NCR competition under the Banghay Award for Outstanding Industrial Design. The Department of Science and Technology–Technology Application and Promotion Institute conferred the recognition, which included a ₱25,000 cash prize and a Certificate of Recognition. Chavez said the recognition represents not only his work but also the collective effort of BukSU and the broader Mindanao innovation community, and with this win, his project will advance to the 2026 National Invention Contest and Exhibits.
