The University of the Philippines’ Diliman campus on Monday said it has brought back the “toki” jeepney route.
In a statement on its social media accounts, UP Diliman said that the move is in response to appeals from students, faculty, parents and staff.
“Ito ay bilang tugon sa kahilingan ng maraming mag-aaral, magulang, mga kawani, at fakulti mula pa noong magluwag ang national health emergency,” it said, referring to restrictions amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The “toki” route goes clockwise inside the campus, and so named because it goes the other way as the campus’s “ikot” jeepneys, which travel counterclockwise. Ikot and toki jeepneys do not leave the premises of UP Diliman.
The statement included a diagram of the route.
It added that the goal of bringing back the route is to make traveling within the campus easier, especially during the hot season months from March to May.
