Teves still in pain, under constant medical observation — lawyer

Former Negros Oriental representative Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr. is experiencing pain that requires constant medical observation, his legal counsel said Sunday.

“Just talked to Mr. Teves’ doctors. He is still in pain due to post-operative complications, going up to 10/10 on the pain scale just this morning, necessitating the attention of a pain management doctor,” said lawyer Ferdinand Topacio to members of the media.

Teves underwent an appendectomy at the Philippine General Hospital last week.

Topacio said his client is on “powerful painkillers” and is unable to eat or drink orally. The former lawmaker is being fed via by intubation.

“He is currently on ATC (around the clock) observation by medical professionals to address current concerns and to prevent future ones,” the lawyer said.
