Taguig City launched its Brigada Eskwela on Monday among schools located in EMBO barangays.
Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano ensured that the city government is committed to supporting the EMBO Schools as the school year opens.
“Marubdob at masigasig akong makikipag-ugnayan sa mga opisyal ng Department of Education upang masiguro ko na sa pagbubukas ng school year iyong mga pangamba po ninyo, ‘yung mga agam-agam po ninyo, ‘yung mga katanungan po ninyo, unti-unting masasagot, malilinawan, at matutugunan,” she said in news release.
(I will constantly coordinate with the officials of the Department of Education to ensure that your concerns and questions this school year will clearly be addressed.)
Cayetano appealed to the General Parents Teachers Association officers and members for understanding and patience amid the transition as she promised to work closely with the school heads and division officials to address the urgent needs of students and teachers.
The Taguig City government already prepared school kits, which will soon be distributed to the students.
After visiting Makati Science High School, Cayetano went to Fort Bonifacio High School and Fort Bonifacio Elementary School, where principals, teachers, students, parents and volunteers from the community welcomed her.
The volunteers went around the other EMBO schools transferred to Taguig in light of the Supreme Court decision on the City’s territorial dispute with Makati.
The 14 public schools located in the affected barangays in District 2 include: Fort Bonifacio Elementary School, Cembo Elementary School, South Cembo Elementary School, Pitogo Elementary School, East Rembo Elementary School, Rizal Elementary School, Comembo Elementary School, West Rembo Elementary School, Pembo Elementary School, Makati Science High School, Benigno “Ninoy” S. Aquino High School, Tibagan High School, Fort Bonifacio High School, and Pitogo High School.—Anna Felicia Bajo/LDF, GMA Integrated News
