The “Pope Jeep” that was used by the late Pope Francis when he visited the Philippines in 2015 has been brought to the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno, more popularly known as Quiapo Church on Friday.
According to an “Unang Balita” report by Ivan Mayrina on Friday, the “Pope Jeep” was parked just outside the church where the Catholic faithful can take a photo with the vehicle and the Pope Francis standee.
The “Pope Jeep,” a Vatican-approved design, is a non-armored vehicle which was made in compliance with the Pontiff’s request since he wants to be able to greet the flock closely.
After traveling to the Quiapo Church, the vehicle will be brought to San Antonio Parish in Makati City on Saturday, April 26, which is the date of the Pope Francis’ funeral.
The Pope Jeep will be at the Sanctuario de San Antonio parish church in Makati until Sunday, April 27.
