PITX expects 180,000 passengers a day before Christmas Eve

The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange was expecting up to 180,000 passengers on Saturday as Filipinos headed to different parts of the country to celebrate the holiday season.

As of 5 p.m., the PITX had already recorded a total of 140,000 passengers, Jonathan Andal reported on ”24 Oras Weekend.”

Bus operators said trips were fully booked, but many were still hoping for available seats.

Amid the holiday rush, some travelers expressed their frustration over delayed trips.

Meanwhile, the PITX management reminded passengers to travel light, and to make sure that pets are vaccinated and kept in cages.

The terminal said that they anticipate a decrease in travelers on Sunday, Christmas Eve, followed by an increase after Christmas. Some bus firms, however, said that reservations for their trips were already full until January 2024.

In Quezon City, a bus terminal in EDSA-Cubao added units as more passengers began to arrive.

“Sa mga chance passenger, puwede po kayong pumila, makakasakay naman po kayo within the day or ilang oras po ng paghihintay. Depende po yan sa dami po ng pasahero,” said Victory Liner spokesperson Cris Levi Perez.
