MMDA to deploy over 2,000 enforcers for Undas 2025

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will be deploying over 2,000 traffic enforcers to ensure road safety before, during, and after the observance of All Saints’ Day (Undas) and All Souls’ Day.

“The MMDA is already prepared. We will be deploying around 2,400 enforcers,” MMDA Task Force Special Operations chief Edison “Bong” Nebrija said at a news forum in Quezon City on Saturday.

Nebrija said the deployment will start on October 25 until November 30.

“We will have a no absent, no leave, no day off policy on October 30, 31, [until] November 3,” he said.

The MMDA official said the agency has already started clearing operations in five major cemeteries in Metro Manila, namely Manila North Cemetery, Manila South Cemetery, Loyola Memorial Park Marikina, Bagbag Cemetery, and San Juan Cemetery.

Nebrija added that the MMDA also coordinated with the managements of North Luzon Expressway, South Luzon Expressway, Manila-Cavite Expressway, and Cavite-Laguna Expressway to ensure orderly flow of traffic during the Undas 2025 exodus.

He said that the agency also met with the Highway Patrol Group and the National Capital Region Police Office to synchronize their traffic management plans and ensure peace and order during Undas.

October 31, Friday (All Saints’ Day Eve), and November 1, Saturday (All Saints’ Day) were declared special non-working days to allow Filipinos to have time to visit the tombs of their departed loved ones as per tradition. —KG, GMA Integrated News
