Authorities arrested a man in Caloocan for rape charges, 10 years after he went into hiding.
According to John Consulta’s exclusive report on “24 Oras” on Wednesday, the 53-year-old suspect went into hiding in Cavite then he transferred to Caloocan where he changed residence in three barangays.
The Manila Police District’s (MPD) Women and Children’s Desk arrested the suspect for allegedly raping his partner’s daughter in San Andres, Manila.
With the help of an informant, the MPD Women and Children’s Desk located the suspect.
“Hindi ko nagawa yun, sir. Ang ano ko na lang sa kanila sir, sana mapatawad na lang nila ako (I didn’t do that, sir. Whatever it is, I hope they forgive me),” the suspect said.
“Women’s month ngayon, we are placing emphasis sa paghahabol dito sa mga suspek na may kasong rape, ang mga humuli pa rito ay mga kababaihan na operatiba natin,” MPD director.Police Brigadier General Tom Ibay said.
