A woman died after a pre-dawn fire on Saturday hit a residential area in Barangay West Kamias in Quezon City, Super Radyo dzBB reported.
According to the radio report, the fire broke out at Kamias Road corner Colonel Salgado Street. The area is near a gas station and EDSA, the main thoroughfare of Metro Manila.
The blaze started at 3:40 a.m., while fire out was declared at 4:44 a.m.
Fire officials said the second alarm was raised.
Firemen reported difficulty in recovering the remains of the female victim underneath the debris.
The victim’s family members told Super Radyo dzBB that her dogs were able to escape the burning house, but one of them went back inside and died as well.
Her 14 cats also perished in blaze. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
