Fire hits Malabon residential neighborhood, reaches 2nd alarm

A fire struck a residential area in Malabon City on early Sunday morning, according to Super Radyo dzBB.

In an initial report by Christian Mano, the fire began at around 4 a.m. along C, Arellano Street in Barangay Ibaba.

The blaze reached 2nd alarm status before being placed under control by first responders from the Bureau of Fire Protection and fire volunteers at around 6 a.m.

At least 10 houses were destroyed or damaged.

Authorities said they encountered challenges fighting the fire due to the narrow alleys, lack of water and the distance of fire hydrants.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire while mopping operations continue.—RF, GMA Integrated News
