Another fire hits metro, affects residential area in Mandaluyong

A fire broke out at a residential area in Barangay Addition Hills in Mandaluyong City, at least the third blaze to hit Metro Manila since Friday night until Saturday morning amid stretches of heavy rains.

According to a report by Christian Maño on Super Radyo dzBB, the fire started near the back of Nueve de Febrero Elementary School.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has raised the third alarm as it requested more firemen to respond to the scene.

The report added that firemen and fire volunteers were having a hard time approaching the area as nearby dwellings were built close to each other.

In Pasig City, a fire broke out on Friday night at a warehouse in Barangay Pinagbuhatan and was declared under control at 6:38 a.m., nearly 11 hours after it started.

About three hours later in Manila City, another fire was logged at the Sta. Mesa district. It affected a residential area but was soon declared under control without any casualties immediately reported. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
