Authorities arrested six Chinese citizens for allegedly conducting online activities in Pasay City, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said Thursday.
In a statement, the BI said authorities launched an enforcement operation along Roxas Boulevard Service Road in Barangay 13 on Wednesday following a request for assistance from the Chinese authorities for the arrest of a 34-year-old Chinese man.
During the enforcement operation, the five other foreigners were allegedly caught operating computer workstations and electronic devices suspected of being linked to online fraud activities.
Authorities said one of the individuals is wanted in China for fraud, while three others were found to be overstaying in the Philippines.
Another individual, 47, was nabbed after failing to present a valid passport or immigration documents during inspection.
The Chinese citizens are all facing immigration cases and will be under BI custody in Taguig City. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA News
