36 more Chinese POGO workers to be deported —PAOCC

A total of 36 more Chinese nationals who were earlier caught in an illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators hub in Pasay City are expected to be deported to Nanjing, China on Friday evening.

This is the third batch of deportees arrested in a complex said to be operating with a cancelled license, according to a “24 Oras” report by Raffy Tima.

Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz said that the deportees will be detained for at least a month upon their arrival to China, where they may face charges due to violation of their country’s anti-gambling laws.

The deportees were transported at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 and are expected to leave Friday evening.

“They will face criminal cases because they were caught in an online gambling, which is prohibited in China.  Any Chinese national caught working in a gambling firm is committing a crime under China’s laws,” PAOCC director Winston Casio said.
