2 reported dead in Sta Mesa, Manila fire

The two children, who were initially reported missing amid the fire in Sta. Mesa, Manila were found dead on Monday evening.

According to Ian Cruz’s Monday report on “Saksi,” the fire broke out in Barangay 628 around 4 p.m.

An explosion also occurred amid the blaze.

A woman said she heard someone screaming that smoke was coming out of a house before she grabbed her grandson and fled to safety.

The fire spread quickly as the houses were made of light materials and the wind was strong.

Some buildings of a school and vehicles were also damaged by the fire.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire that reached fourth alarm.

The Bureau of Fire Protection Manila reported that about 100 families were affected by the blaze.

Meanwhile, two people were reported injured.
