Two men were wounded in a shooting incident at the corner of EDSA and Timog Avenue in Quezon City on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Super Radyo dzBB’s Glen Juego, a Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) personnel said a riding-in-tandem blocked a white car and repeatedly fired at the vehicle.
The two occupants of the white car were rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center.
The MMDA personnel, who witnessed the incident, said the suspects immediately fled toward the EDSA-Cubao area.
Authorities are conducting a manhunt for the suspects, with CCTV footage now being reviewed. Police are also coordinating with the MMDA.
Reports said the driver of the white vehicle attempted to escape while the suspects were firing at them.
For its part, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said it is conducting an investigation into the incident, which occurred about 300 meters from its headquarters.
“Investigation is ongoing to determine the identities of the suspects, establish the motive of the incident, and gather additional evidence, including the backtracking and forward tracking of CCTV footage and witness statements,” the QCPD said in a statement.
“Moreover, to ensure an in-depth investigation, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was immediately created to handle and closely monitor the case until its resolution.”—MCG, GMA News
