Jardine Schindler Philippines has secured a major contract to modernize 51 elevators and six escalators at RCBC Plaza in Makati City, introducing technology designed to improve passenger movement and building efficiency.

The project, which began in March 2026, is among the company’s largest modernization undertakings in the Philippines.

The upgrade includes the installation of the Schindler PORT Destination Control System, which uses intelligent traffic management to reduce waiting times, improve elevator allocation and strengthen building access control.

The system allows occupants to navigate the complex using smartphones, access badges or integrated digital interfaces.

“We’re proud to be partnering with RCBC Plaza to help modernize its complex, which plays a unique role as a cultural hub within the Makati CBD,” said Jardine Schindler Philippines managing director Rachel Thu.

The company will also take over elevator maintenance and introduce an escalator modernization solution designed for occupied buildings.

The technology aims to minimize disruptions to tenants and visitors while upgrading existing facilities.

RCBC Plaza is a high-occupancy Grade A office complex, requiring modernization work to proceed without significantly affecting daily operations.

“This project win reflects our strong capabilities in delivering large-scale modernization projects within complex, high-occupancy environments,” said Jardine Schindler Group Modernization sales director Yeow Seng Teo.
