Two residents of Valenzuela City were arrested Saturday morning following a successful buy-bust operation.
The joint operation, conducted around 5:30 AM along Madamba Street in Barangay Gen. T. de Leon, was carried out by operatives of the Northern Police District Drug Enforcement Unit (NPD-DDEU) and Sub-Station 2 of the Valenzuela City Police.
Police Captain Regie Pobadora, officer-in-charge of the NPD-DDEU, identified the arrested suspects as alias “Jo,” a 34-year-old production worker, and alias “Bansot,” a 53-year-old vendor.
Both suspects are considered high-value individuals (HVIs) due to the amount of evidence recovered from them.
Authorities seized sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, with a total weight of approximately 50 grams. The seized drugs have an estimated street value of P340,000.
In a Viber message, Pobadora said the suspects typically sold narcotics in nearby barangays, including Bignay, Punturin, Gen. T. de Leon, and Karuhatan.
It was also reported that “Bansot” had a prior drug case dating back to 1990.
The suspects will face charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale), in relation to Section 26 (Conspiracy), and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) under Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
