MPD Nabs Sexagenarian, Partner; P3.5-M Worth Of Shabu Seized From Them

ABOUT P3.5 million worth of shabu were seized by operatives of the Manila Police District-Drug Enforcement Unit (MPD-DEU ) from a sexagenarian and his partner, following a buy-bust operation in Sampaloc, Manila early yesterday morning.

The suspects who remain in the custody of the MPD-DEU were identified as Guillermo Manguerra, 68 and his partner Arlene Lorenzo, 53, both of No. 716 Maria Cristina St., Brgy 455, Zone 45, Sampaloc, Manila.

Police confiscated from the couple 525 grams of shabu with a street value of P3,570,000 during an operation conducted at around 3 a.m.

PMAJ. Gil John Lobaton, in a report, said that the DEU based its operation on tipped information regarding the couple’s illegal activities.

Meantime, the two have been charged with violation of Sections 5 and 11, under Article II of RA 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.
