Police arrested a 77-year-old welder for allegedly attempting to stab a man in Barangay Ususan, Taguig, on July 18.

The incident occurred at around 2:50 p.m., involving the suspect, identified only as alias Rodolfo, and a 44-year-old man.
The Taguig police reported that the victim was closing the gate of his residence when the suspect suddenly approached him from behind.
Armed with a 10.5-inch kitchen knife, the suspect allegedly attempted to stab the 44-year-old victim. The victim managed to evade the attack but sustained an abrasion on the right side of his waist during the incident.
Witnesses intervened and stopped the attack. The victim went to the Taguig police’s Sub-Station 4 to report the crime.
Police immediately responded to the scene, resulting in the suspect’s arrest and the seizure of the weapon.
After the arrest, the police brought the suspect to the Station Investigation and Detective Management Section for documentation. The suspect will face charges for attempted homicide before the Taguig prosecutor’s office.
Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco, Southern Police District director, commended the Taguig police for their swift action.
