SHANGHAI, China — Clark is positioning experiential travel and tailorfit itineraries at the center of its tourism push, offering Chinese travelers wellness days, eco tours, hot springs, city shopping, and night golf.
Under the leadership of Clark Development Corp. president and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, these programs were unveiled during the Philippine Business Mission 2026 on Aug. 21 at the Hyatt on the Bund here.
Consul General Myca Magnolia Fischer reinforced this positioning, noting that curated experiences build confidence among travelers.
“Facetoface interaction builds trust,” she said, as nearly 50 buyers met 25 Philippine sellers in businesstobusiness sessions organized by the Tourism Promotions Board of the Philippines.
Fischer stressed that visafree entry alone is not enough. “Reliable connections, thoughtful itineraries, and confidence in the travel experience are what bring visitors.”
This positioning is reinforced by the Philippines’ recent recognition as Best Island Destination at the World Leisure Awards in China, underscoring the country’s appeal to Chinese travelers seeking premium leisure. Fischer also noted that the government is studying the extension of visafree entry to other gateways, with decisions to be based on sixmonth results and scientific data.
“Clark offers experiences worth staying for — wellness, eco tours, leisure, and shopping within the Freeport. It is both a pause and a passage: a destination to linger in and a launch point to the country’s island treasures, from Boracay’s white sands to Palawan’s limestone cliffs. Clark thus grows as a hub where travel begins with experience and extends into exploration,” Devanadera said.
On the sidelines of the mission, Fischer highlighted opportunities for Philippine development zones and tourism in Shanghai, underscoring the potential for cooperation and exchange.
