Bawat Bayan Makikinabang’ benefits 1,600 in Bacolor  , Punto! Central Luzon

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — A total of 1,600 beneficiaries from vulnerable sectors in the municipality of Bacolor in Pampanga received rice assistance under the Bagong Pilipinas Rice Subsidy component of the Bawat Bayan Makikinabang Program, a government initiative that provides sustained food support to families while creating a market for locally produced rice.

Members of the town’s jeepney operators and drivers’ association, tricycle operators and drivers’ association, Bacolor Drivers Association, solo parents, and construction workers each received 10 kilograms of rice every two months for five distribution cycles that started in April.

The intervention aligns with the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in strengthening food security, supporting vulnerable communities, and promoting inclusive economic growth through programs that benefit both consumers and local farmers.

“This rice comes from the harvest of our local farmers. Each beneficiary from our vulnerable sectors in Bacolor will receive 10 kilograms of rice as part of our continuing effort to help our community,” said Bacolor Mayor Eduardo “Diman” Datu, noting how the rice assistance addresses the immediate needs of vulnerable sectors and at the same time sustains the livelihood of local rice producers.

The Bagong Pilipinas Rice Subsidy Program aims to ease the burden of vulnerable families while strengthening the local agricultural sector by ensuring that rice distributed to beneficiaries is sourced from local farmers.  Mark Anthony G. Pangan/PIA-3
