1,313 city hall employees receive mid-year incentive

ANGELES CITY — It’s like Christmas in May here with Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., ordering the release of mid-year bonus for the 1,313 city hall employees comprising 966 permanent, 318 casual, 14 elected, and 15 contractual workers today, May 16.

“Sa ngalan po ng mga kawani ng Angeles City Hall, we would like to thank Mayor Pogi Lazatin for always ensuring the timely release of the mid-year bonus. Ramdam po namin ang malasakit at pagmamahal ni mayor hindi lamang po sa siyudad kung di pati sa mga empleyado,” enthused Flordeliza Santos, president of the Angeles City Employees for a New and Dynamic Angeles.

Articulating the sentiments of her peers, Santos furthered: “He always makes it a point that we, the employees are well taken care of and with that, we are even more motivated to work hard towards his vision of a better Angeles City. Muli po, maraming salamat po Mayor Pogi Lazatin! Mabuhay po kayo.”

Lazatin, in turn, said it was “just and proper” for employees to receive cash bonuses for their hard work and sacrifices. “Higit na mahalaga po ang ano mang porma ng tulong para sa mga empleyado. Hindi po biro ang sakripisyo ng ating mga empleyado.”

The mayor Lazatin also voiced out his sincere thanks to the city hall employees for their diligence in performing their tasks. “I am truly indebted to the City Hall employees, dahil po sa kanila ay patuloy pa rin ang operasyon ng pagbibigay serbisyo sa ating mga minamahal na Angeleño.”

The bonuses released today amount to a one-month basic pay each.

This measure is in reference to Republic Act No. 11466 and the National Budget Circular No. 579 issued by the Department of Budget and Management on Jan. 24, 2020. Angeles CIO
