CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–In a move to bring services closer to its members, the Social Security System (SSS) Cagayan de Oro branch signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Barangay 29 to establish an “E-Center sa Barangay” and “KaltaSSS Collect” program, March 3.
SSS CDO branch head Antonio G. Fabia said the e-center is an online platform of the SSS where members can access and transact online.
“Ang purpose sa e-center atong tabangan atong constituents nga maka-access sa website sa SSS, kay halos naa na didto ang application, ug mga programa sa SSS, nga benefit claims, halos naa na tanan sa website ma-access nila. Dili na sila kihanglan muadto sa atong opisina, personally mag-transact, maka-save sila sa pamiliti, maka-save sila sa oras sa paglinya didto,” Fabia said.
(The purpose of the E-Center is to assist our constituents in accessing the SSS website, because almost everything is there, including applications, SSS programs, benefit claims, and so on. They do not need to go to the office to personally transact; they can save money on their fare and their time in lining up there)
Meanwhile, through the KaltaSSS Collect program, job order workers in the barangay are assured of social protection.
“Atong mga workers nga wala’y Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), pwede sila diri sa KaltaSSS, para mahimo silang SSS members. Kung naa mo’y Job Orders (JOs), ang JO is not direct employee sa barangay or sa government, so wala sila’y GSIS, but SSS is here para maka-provide ta ug maka-access sila og benefits, matagaan nato sila og benefits in times of contingencies,” Fabia said.
(Our employees who are not members of the GSIS can enroll in KaltaSSS to become SSS members. If you have job jrders (JOs), the JO is not a direct employee of the barangay or government, so they do not have GSIS, but SSS is here to provide and give access to benefits, and we can give them benefits in times of contingencies)
Barangay Chair Apolinar B. Bonete expressed his gratitude to SSS Cagayan de Oro for the program and technical support.
“Dako kaayo ang kalipay sa mga opisyales sa Barangay 29, sa gihimo karon sa taga-SSS, kay dako na kaayo kini ikatabang sa katawhan dili lamang sa Barangay 29, kung dili sa katawhan sa Cagayan de Oro nga dili na maghago muadto sa SSS, nga mahimo nga diay dinhi sa Barangay 29. Pasalamat ako sa SSS nga ilang nabuhat kini karon,” said Bonete.
(We are so grateful, together with the officials of Barangay 29, for the effort today of the SSS, because this can help hugely to the residents not only Barangay 29 but also to the entire population of Cagayan de Oro, because they will no longer have to go personally to SSS, that their transactions can be done here in Barangay 29. My gratitude to SSS that they have done this today)
Meanwhile, SSS assistant branch head Ira Levin A. Filoteo said they are closely coordinating with all barangays in Cagayan de Oro to replicate the establishment of E-center sa Barangay so that all constituents in Cagayan de Oro will have ease of access, through their barangays.
In due time, all SSS services will be online; no more over the counter, Filoteo added. (JMOR/PIA-10)
